If you're sitting uncomfortably . . .

It's not only sports injuries that require treatment - just sitting at a computer can do damage. Rebekah Gilbert offers a range of massage therapies to relieve stressed muscles - and nutrition advice, too

Sports massage is not limited to the sporty. It encompasses all muscle and soft tissue injuries, whether you've had a trip or whiplash, the dog has pulled the lead out of your hand and given you shoulder ache or, indeed, the last hole on the golf course was one too many.

In addition, poor posture and hours sitting in front of a computer can cause muscle tension, leading to back and shoulder problems. Stress can also lead to considerable muscular problems and a deep tissue massage can go a long way to help release tension and improve flexibility.

I work on a freelance basis in Rye and Hastings and can also visit clients at their homes within about a 12-mile radius od Rye. You will find me at the podiatrist's clinic in Cinque Ports Street, Rye, on Wednesdays and I have already seen a number of clients since starting there this month. In addition, I'm in central Hastings two days a week (01424 445534).

Working as Viva Wellbeing, I originally qualified as a massage therapist in 2006 in London, going on to gain a level 5 professional diploma (the highest qualification of its kind in the UK) at the London School of Sports Massage, training with the highly respected Mel Cash and Mary Sanderson. I am also a qualified nutritionist, with a diploma with honours from the Royal Society for Public Health.

So, if you have a twinge, aching back and shoulders, or just feel in need of a good stretch, contact me on 07974 001818 or via my website.
