For many years Rye, with all its natural advantages, has been a popular place for couples to marry - whether in the beautiful and historic St Mary's church or at the other registered civil venues. To celebrate this (and also, we hope, the start of spring), the George is throwing open its doors for a Wedding Open Day from 11am to 4pm on Sunday March 8.
In addition to members of the George staff, who will be there to answer questions and demonstrate to prospective brides the hotel and its ballroom as a wedding venue, there will be, the George informs us , "some of the most lovely wedding suppliers around" exhibiting their wares. They will be joined by registrars from Hastings Registry Office who will be able to advise on booking and other details of a civil ceremony.
