For anybody holding back on Christmas cheer as the annual juggernaut of commercialism sweeps through, there's an event at the weekend that might just help distract you. Lamb Players return with a little festive escapism to warm the cynical cockles and blow away unwanted bah-humbug blues.
With an extraordinary ensemble of television and West End theatre folk, Lamb Players come to Lamb House, West Street, on Sunday December 14 for a lighthearted yet traditional evening of music, carols and readings from the works of Shakespeare, Henry James, Benson and Edith Wharton among others.
For those seeking seasonal cheer, the evening comes complete with complimentary mulled wine, mince pies and a mingle with the cast in the understated and atmospheric ambience of the staircase and hall of one of Rye's most treasured residences.
