A walk at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve kicked off a nationwide event for World Mental Health Day on Thursday October 10. "Walk for Wellbeing" was created by Craig Prentice from Rye and sees thousands of walkers across the country supporting the charity Hospitality Action.

The event, now in it's fifth year, aims to promote mental health and wellbeing whilst raising awareness and funds to support individuals and their families in the hospitality sector during challenging times.

Following the Rye event, there were walks in London, Oxford, Bristol, Cardiff, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester and Glasgow on Sunday October 13.

Craig Prentice hopes the annual event will continue to grow. "It is an honour and a privilege to lead the start on this national movement in my hometown of Rye. Walk for Wellbeing is a grassroots initiative that promotes selfcare whilst also encouraging businesses to adopt healthier employment practices. As this event continues to gain national support, it’s clear that focusing on the wellbeing of our workforce is key to shaping the future of the hospitality industry."
