Icklesham Casuals Veterans defeated Little Common Veterans 5-2 last Sunday, to lift the Hastings FA Veterans League title. Icklesham started the brighter and went ahead in the 9th minute, when Sacha Patterson converted a penalty awarded for hand ball. Little Common gradually got a foothold in the game, creating several chances and the equaliser came in the 28th minute, again from a penalty for hand ball. With five minutes of the half remaining, Patterson restored the lead, with a lovely turn in the box and shot into the roof of the net, then completed his hat-trick just before the break, with another fine finish.

The game was effectively made safe in the 51st minute, when Patterson notched his fourth. Martin Tytherleigh weighed in with a goal in the 69th minute, when he beat the opposition keeper and tapped into an empty net. Little Common pulled a goal back seven minutes from time.
