Rye Town FC travelled to Robertsbridge United last Saturday, December 15, for their final league game of this year.  A solitary goal from Charlie Stevens wasn't enough and Town went down by 2 goals to one, which left our local football team finishing 2018 a little flat.  Steve Thompson was Rye's man-of-the-match and EW Production Services Ltd were the game sponsors.

Robertsbridge, however, end the year on a high by moving into third position in the league table with 23 points, only four points behind the joint league leaders Battle Baptists and Bexhill Town, both sitting pretty with 27 points apiece.

After 11 games played, Rye Town stay in sixth place in the league on 12 points, with three wins, three draws and five losses so far in this year's campaign.  Town have scored 17 goals and conceded 27 in comparison with Battle Baptists who have chalked up 35 goals and have had only12 against.

As we head into the Christmas break there is plenty for Town to work on in the new year, which will hopefully see them turn their season around and finish on a high.
