Rye Town faced Bexhill United II in the first of 2 semi finals read how they got on. Dan Lake reports

Rye Town FC travelled to Polgrove on Saturday March 4 as they faced division 3 team Bexhill United II in the semi final of the Hastings FA Junior Cup.

Town got the scoring underway in the 12th minute thanks to an own goal from one of the Bexhill players, Rye's second and third goals came in quick succession in the 21st and 22nd minutes thanks to Alfie Weller. It was 3-0 to Rye at half time.

The second half started and it didn't take  long to get a forth goal, this time thanks to Rob Levett in the 49th minute. This is how it stayed until the 86th minute when Rob Levett hit his 2nd goal of the game and Rye's fifth. The game ended 5-0 to Rye with Adam Hurley, getting the man of the match which was sponsored by Steve Pollman at Rye Butchers. Town will now face Sedlescombe Rangers II in the final.

This Saturday March 11 Rye face Hawkhurst in the semi final of the Robertsbridge intermediate Cup. Hawkhurst are currently 6th in the premier league so this will be a tough game in a match sponsored by Mick Hovenden from Mick Hovenden Upholstery. The winner will face either Sedlescombe I or Bexhill AAC I in the final.
