Last Saturday February 25, Rye Town gained automatic promotion to the East Sussex Football League Premier. Town needed just 2 points from there remaining 3 games to secure promotion but were awarded the 3 points after opponents Wadhurst were unable to raise a side for the game which means that Town cannot finish outside the 2 promotion places. They now hope for more reason to celebrate as they attempt to clinch the title in the coming weeks.
This Saturday March 4 attention turns to cup action as Rye travel to Polgrove to face Bexhill United II in the semi final of the Hastings FA junior cup with kick off at 2:30pm. The game is sponsored by Tom Jebb from Tom Jebb Decorating Services.
