Remembrance Sunday takes place on November 9 this year, with church services, parades and wreath laying in Rye, Winchelsea and the surrounding villages.

In Rye the focus will be on the church service at St Mary's followed by a ceremony at the town's war memorial which has recently undergone an impressive restoration.

The timetable in Rye is as follows:

The annual Service of Remembrance will be held at St Mary's starting at 10.55 am, with participants seated by 10.45am.

The church service will be preceded by a parade of service, civil and youth organisations marching from Market Street leaving at 10.40am.

The parade will pass Rye Town Hall where the mayor will take the salute.

After the church service, the congregation are invited to the war memorial for the laying of wreaths and crosses.
