August is near and high tide at Strand Quay is early afternoon, so it must be time for Rye Maritime Festival. On Sunday August 2, Strand Quay will be transformed, writes John Minter.
Boats from further downriver and dressed overall for the occasion will crowd the Quay and visiting yachts will arrive from across the Channel.
Live music from Jamie Smart, Claudi Coleman, The Rockitmen, The Frampton Sisters and others will entertain and the Quayside will be full of stalls: a beer tent, Rye Butchers BBQ, the RNLI, children's entertainment and much more both on and off the water.
From 11:30am until 5pm, the day really is entertainment and fun for all the family.
