I want to share a gem of a new place I have been introduced to in Pett village: 3 The Lyndens, Pett Road, only 20 minutes from Rye, if that. It is a coffee shop which offers delicious cakes and pastries, hot and cold drinks, afternoon tea and sandwiches. Private parties and dogs are welcome.

The portions are very generous and if you cannot finish the delights they will pack them for you to take home.

It is very quaint but modern and you can buy pretty items as a memento or for presents. The main feature to mention is the view from the deck at the back. It is breathtaking.

Another lovely feature is the hairdresser in the next room which is currently decorated for Halloween. They have early and late night appointments available.

The staff in both areas were very friendly. I was told that the building had been the village Post Office which had to close and the new owners took a leap of faith, which seems to have paid off, as they have been open for a year and are doing well. Do treat yourself to  Sunday afternoon tea, (or during the week) especially if it's a dry day and enjoy the view.
