The green blob
At the bottom left of your screen

For the last few months there’s been something in every edition of Rye News.

Not an article about the proposed Aldi.

Although…

It’s a green dot or blob. A bit like a finger print. It hovers in the bottom left of the screen. Or it does on mine anyway.

Nothing sinister. But a few people have asked about it. So worth an explanation.

It’s to do with the privacy settings and helps us work out how many readers we have (about 6,000 a week), where they are (over 90% in the UK, but a big following in the USA - and surprisingly Norway), what they read and what they don’t.

It’s a legal requirement to let you know.

All websites do it, it’s just that Rye News is probably a bit more upfront about it.

You can alter your privacy settings by clicking on the green button.
