Tasty treats at St Bartholomew's

St Bartholomew's Extra Care centre is opening its doors in aid of Macmillan nurses

An extra care scheme in Rye is inviting the community in to join its residents for coffee and cakes for Macmillan.

Sanctuary’s St Bartholomew’s Extra Care, on Kiln Drive (up Rye Hill in Playden just past the hospital on the left), will be taking part in cancer charity Macmillan’s national World’s Biggest Coffee Morning from 10:30am to 12pm on Friday, September 30.

Visitors will be able to purchase coffee, tea and cake in support of the national cancer charity. An open day will be running concurrently, offering visitors the chance to visit the over-60s scheme’s one-bedroomed apartments.

Scheme services manager Carol Neale said: “One in three people will get cancer at some point in their lives and Macmillan do fantastic work in making sure people have support should the worst happen.

“Our care workers and our residents are a very friendly lot at St Bartholomew’s and we’d love to see visitors come by on the day and help us support this great cause.”
