I write with reference to the debate surrounding the "burning of the poppies" at this year's Rye Fawkes celebrations. In this instance I feel that Col Kimber is completely wrong to condemn the bonfire society. The lighting of the poppies before the bonfire was lit was tastefully done and everybody within my group commented upon what a fitting gesture it was. I am sorry that the bonfire society felt it necessary to apologise for its actions, I for one feel that they have nothing to apologise for.
