Local convenience store expanding to cater for demand from local community

Thanks to one of our regular contributors and readers, Vic Vicary, for pointing out that the Tilling Green newsagents has closed. I had a wander down there and the former newsagents has now gone, a sign on the door says the building is being taken over by Premier (next door) as Tilling Green Stores.

As Vic rightly points out, the new operation comes with various advantages over other shops locally as the Premier Store at 41 Lea Avenue is part of  a large group of over 300 stores across the country, owned by independent retailers offering longer opening hours to satisfy the needs of their local communities. Even on a Sunday the shop is open until 7PM.

A sign on the shop doorway confirms what's happening.

Their extensive product range includes cleaning products, confectionery, fruit and vegetables, grocery, meat and fish, tinned goods, pet food, soft drinks and tinned vegetables from the brand names Butchers Market, Farm Fresh, Happy Shopper and Euro Shopper ranges.

So, if your cupboard is bare, particularly on a Sunday, just take a wander over to Tilling Green and drop in at Premier convenience store, its name speaks volumes.
