Sunday's Festival of the Sea saw the much anticipated raft race won by the favourites, the team from Skinners of Rye. In a gracious display of sportsmanship the winning team decided unanimously to donate their prize money to Simon Aylett's prostate cancer fund (www.justgiving.com/Simon-Aylett), a gesture that Rye News would like to applaud.
Legendary singer Dionne Warwick gave a scintillating performance at Bexhill's De La Warr pavilion on Saturday as part of this year's Rye International Jazz and Blues Festival.
