The UK's oldest Forces charity, SSAFA - the Soldiers', Sailors' and Airmen's Families Association - will be the subject of a talk given by its divisional secretary Bernard Stonestreet on Monday October 6 at 7.30pm. The venue is the Rye RAF and British Legion social evening at the Rye Club in Market Road. Even if you have no connection to the Forces it will be an interesting opportunity to find out what this charity does in the 21st century, having first been formed in the 19th. The £2 donation includes coffee and biscuits and there is a bar available. Everyone is welcome.
