The member of staff (who wishes to remain anonymous) rang the police and used these words to me.
Shoplifters targeted Boots the Chemists in Rye High Street at about 3:30pm on Saturday October 13. A member of staff noticed "a fair amount of stock being taken off the shelves and loaded into bags" and taken out the door without apparently triggering the alarm.
The goods were carried along the High Street to the top of Conduit Hill, where a vehicle was waiting. Police are investigating.
