This advice draws on instructions issued by the Rother Elections Unit.

Voting papers are on their way to Rye constituents ready for the Referendum on the adoption of the Rye Neighbourhood Plan to be held on Thursday June 27, 2019 to decide on the question below:

‘Do you want Rother District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Rye to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?’

For those who are not on the register of Rye electors, applications to be included on the register of electors for this referendum must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Town Hall, Bexhill on Sea, East Sussex, TN39 3JX by Tuesday June 11, 2019.

New applications for, or amendments or cancellations of postal votes and amendments or cancellations of existing proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Town Hall, Bexhill on Sea, East Sussex, TN39 3JX by 5pm on Wednesday June 12, 2019.

Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Town Hall, Bexhill on Sea, East Sussex, TN39 3JX by 5pm on Wednesday June 19, 2019.

Applications to vote by proxy at this election applied for on grounds of physical incapacity, or because of work reasons, that occurred after 5pm on Wednesday June 19 2019, must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Town Hall, Bexhill on Sea, East Sussex, TN39 3JX by 5pm on Thursday June 27, 2019.

The voting arrangements are expected to be as for a local election.
