Among the local runners who completed the London Marathon on Sunday April 13 was Rachel Comotto from Winchelsea. She has so far raised over £550 for Macmillan Cancer Support. This year was Rachel’s second London Marathon which she completed in 3 hours and 54 minutes.
Despite the physical challenge, she was enthusiastic about the event. “It was a privilege to run in such a well organised and supported event. The crowd was fantastic and got behind every single runner. Macmillan nurses were also great. They organised a pasta party for us the night before and a great reception afterwards. They had 950 runners targeting £1.5 million, which will pay for 26 nurses for a year. And thanks to all my sponsors.” Rachel plans to run the London Marathon again next year.
Once again the magnificent Winchelsea Christmas will light up on Saturday 13th December at 4.30 p.m. With over 30 decorated themed windows, they will stay lit every evening
