Fairlight Art Club showcased its members’ work in Fairlight Village Hall on Sunday, May 20. To celebrate the Royal wedding on May 19, 16 artists of the club paid tribute to the couple and took a square each, which were then finally fitted together as a very effective whole. Some of the many other excellent paintings are pictured here. The club has about 30 members who meet on Thursdays between 2-4pm. It was initially an offshoot of the local WI (Women’s Institute) but split in the 1980s into a separate entity. The group sometimes organises demonstrations and art talks which occasionally are open to non-members.
