Rotary Day February 23

What kicked off in Chicago

Rotary Day February 23
Rotary

Tuesday, February 23 is Rotary’s 116th Birthday - and on February 23, 1905, little did Paul Harris and his three friends realise what they were starting when they met in room 711 of the Unity Building in Chicago and formed Rotary.

We have come a long way, since then, but we still have a long way to go, especially in our humanitarian goal of 'Ending Polio Now'.

This year has been particularly challenging as a result of Covid-19, with almost everyone within our community affected in some way or other. But, throughout the year, through your generosity, the Rotary Club of Rye & Winchelsea has been able to continue to support the local community and those in need such as the Rye food bank and Rye & District Community Transport with financial support and face coverings.

We have also managed to support computers for schools and find time to plant purple crocus at the Hub on the Hill. The purple crocuses are a reminder of the Rotary campaign to 'End Polio Now'.

So, while it’s our birthday, we send you our thanks for the ongoing support you continue to give and we look forward to helping our community in the coming year.
