Following the Rye News appeal last February, Ponies Need Help, the charity is delighted to report that Undercliff Pony Rescue received a fantastic response from generous readers.
The outcome of the Rye News appeal has meant that Undercliff Pony Rescue is able to move to a much larger field with the benefits of better drainage, running water, easy access and best of all lots of lovely pasture for the ponies to eat. This will be a dramatic improvement for the animals.
Owners Dave Offen and Sharon Baker cannot express their appreciation enough. The ponies will be moving to their new pastures soon, and the current paddock will rest to allow pasture to regrow. "We really are so grateful to Rye News and the generous readers who made donations. Without their support, and the support of so many people in Rye who have grown to love the boys, none of this could have happened," they said.
Dave and Sharon are enthused that this opportunity will enable them to step up their work. Dave says: "There are still numerous ponies being dumped throughout the region on a daily basis, and many will not have the second chance that Undercliff ponies have had. We can now forge ahead and hopefully make a difference to many more ponies."
Undercliff Pony Rescue needs support to continue its aid to abandoned ponies. The animals are monitored, fed, and treated by vets, with loving care from Dave and Sharon. Costs are involved in transporting them to their new home. Please continue to help this worthwhile cause where every pound donated directly benefits the animals.
