Rangers thrash weakened Borough

Beckley Rangers were goal happy as they defeated a weakened Eastbourne Borough side. A successful season ends at home next weekend against Broad Oak and Horam. Ashleigh Fraser reports.

A convincing Beckley Rangers win against a weakened Eastbourne Borough team in the Crowborough and District Football League at the weekend, was started with a great pass from Lucas Zon to Jordan Swain to smash home from 20 yards.

With Beckley controlling the game it wasn't long before Sam Garner got in on the act to score his first of the day. Lewis Carpenter won a penalty which Joe Fraser converted, then a lay off from Carpenter saw Fraser fire into the bottom corner for his second and put Rangers 4-0 up at half time.

In the second half Beckley became a bit lazy with tracking back and marking from set pieces and were punished as Eastbourne scored, but with Bradley Sayer doing some good work on the left, whipping in a cross for Garner to slot home for his second. Rangers then gave away a soft penalty making the score 5-2. Garner then helped himself to two more goals with the best one being a cross from Zon which he then volleyed home from 7 yards. The final score was 7-3 to Beckley. The Lankelma and McCartney Productions Man of match was shared this week between Lucas Zon and Sam Garner. Next week see Beckley at home for their final game of season v Broad Oak and Horam.
