Police are investigating after a woman suffered a head injury in Rye.

At about 11pm on Sunday, February 16, an ambulance was called to Rock Channel Quay after a woman in her 50s was injured on a boat. She was taken to hospital to receive medical treatment.

Police are investigating the matter and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have heard a disturbance in the area around the time, to get in touch.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police online or call 101 quoting 47200041832.

A 41-year-old man from Peacehaven was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He was released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.
