This Saturday November 7 there is an all day conference at the East Street Museum from 10am until 5pm about "The Great Plague in London and the Peripheries".
There are five speakers:
- Justin Champion, on "Bodies Corrupted or Persons wanting Necessaries: Poverty, Gender and Disease in the Great Plague, 1665"
- Graham Twigg, "The Great Plague - Some Considerations"
- Marit Leenstra, "The Lost Graveyard: The Rediscovery of the Bedlam Burial Ground by Crossrail"
- Rebecca Rideal, title to be confirmed ("Interplay between the plague and the Dutch wars")
- Lara Thorpe, "In the midst of death: John Allin of Rye as Plague Commentator".
Each talk will last for roughly one hour, including time for questions and discussion at the end. Tea and Coffee will be available. There will be a break for lunch.
