The local Petanque league contains 55 teams, divided into six divisions playing on Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout the summer. They gathered at the Pipemakers Arms, on November 8 for the league's presentation night where 38 trophies were presented to top teams and top players.
- Tenterden Club for the second year running won the Tuesday A league with the White Dog Ewhurst Green being the runners up.
- Rose and Crown A, Old Romney won the Tuesday B league with the Warren Inn New Romney finishing a close second.
- The Cock Inn B, Peasmarsh who are called the young Cocks came top of the Tuesday C league, the runners up being the Rose and Crown B Old Romney.
- The Two Sawyers, Pett took the honours in the Tuesday D League Rye Harbour Social Club B team were runners up.
- William the Conqueror, Rye Harbour conquered the Tuesday E league by winning most games (legs) The Royal Oak Watlington had to settle for second place though they won most matches.
- For the Wednesday league Horntye Park Hastings came out on top by the narrowest of margins beating the Royal Albert of St Leonards.
- Collecting trophies for top men’s and top ladies’ players in each league were two husband and wife teams - Mr and Mrs N and K Elliott from Warren Inn, and Mr and Mrs A and J Pawson from Rye Harbour Social Club.
- The ladies trophies were won by D Golan, William Caxton; J Glazier, Queens Icklesham; M Mills, Queens Icklesham, and C Maughan, Rainbow Trout. The male victors were T Chandler, Tenterden Club; D Jewitt-Davis, Royal Oak; J Phillips, Queens; A Pettit, Queens, and S Slade, Royal Albert.
- There is a beer round play at the end of each league match where the loser buys the winner a beer. The teams that won most free beer in each league were the Tenterden Club, Varne Boat Club, Camber Castle, Queens, William the Conqueror, Royal Oak and the Rainbow Trout.
- In the singles competition the winner was S Moritmer, Horntye Park and the runner up was P Turner, Queens. S Burns and R Milleryck from the Millers Inn won the pairs competition beating A Read and Dusty Miller of the Varne Boat Club.
