Well worth a look as time is plenty

Online is the new outside event
Nick Archer and his Beekeeper - acrylic

Just before the lockdown The Rye Creative Centre in New Road had organized a new exhibition (TRACE: Distilled Nature, an Australian Birds series/Sarah Seymour and Helen Rawlinson's flower close-ups). They were disappointed that all face to face events and classes have to be put on hold until the time when it is safe again to resume opening exhibitions to the public.

However, the artists decided not to let the important message of staying home paralyze their work. They have created an online exhibition of the above artists as well as giving details of the ongoing classes. Go to the website to look up what is available. Nick Archer is doing an online class, for example.

Thicket - oil on canvas

His painting sessions will focus on still life, tonal drawings using charcoal, colour theory and painting at home from photographs as reference. They will be 3x40 minutes online using Zoom, a free video-conferencing tool. To join, the individual needs a laptop, a decent internet connection and for more information and to book a place, contact Nick via email. Visit his website as well.
