Just over £10,000 has been distributed to voluntary organisations by the Rye Fund in its latest 2021 grants round. Each of the following applicants was successful in gaining an award:
Rye South Undercliff Allotment Group needs to upgrade the water supply by installing additional dip tanks.
Rye Street Pastors will use its award for volunteer training and equipment to support vulnerable people in the night time economy.
Rye Wurlitzer Academy provides free organ tuition to students attending Rye College.
Rye Players, the community drama group, are planning to stage their 2022 pantomime, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in March.
Playden WI needs funding to repair the weatherboard exterior of its meeting hall.
Rye & District Community Transport gets continuing support for running its 326 town bus service.
Family Support Work has a new outreach worker who helps local vulnerable families to cope with daily problems.
Rye Heritage Centre, a recently formed community interest company, will be enabled to develop a project to evaluate the impact on the town of social housing developments over the last century.
Arts on Prescription CIC are a team of professional artists who plan start creative art sessions at the Hub on Rye Hill in the New Year.

Rye Tea Club is a newly formed group to organise a regular monthly tea party with entertainment open to all. The grant will be used to purchase tea pots and table coverings to complement their vintage crockery.
Charles Bronsdon, chairman of the Rye Fund local panel, says: “we are pleased to be able to help small local charities at a time when their need is greatest. Thank you too to the panel members who gave time and effort in studying and evaluating the applications. We have to defer our customary presentation evening in the town hall from January to later in the year when Covid conditions permit.”
The Rye Fund was founded in 2008 as an endowment fund under the aegis of the Sussex Community Foundation.
