Narrow defeat for Casuals
Sam Norman completes his hat-trick - heading home after Phil Badrock's shot came back off the bar

Icklesham Casuals played their first match last Saturday since lockdown measures were eased and although the game started encouragingly it ultimately ended in a narrow defeat.

There is insufficient time remaining to complete the original East Sussex Football League season so the League have organised separate competitions which are being played in April and May.

The Casuals took on Battle Town III in the cup for teams in divisions Four and Five and took a 3-1 lead in the first half thanks to goals from Ken Wadbrook, Joe Fraser and Sam Norman. Battle hit back with two strikes from Dan Turner and one each from Dale Matthews and substitute Max Mousley for a 4-3 victory.

This Saturday Icklesham take on West Hill United with a 3pm kick-off. The match is being played at Northiam as Icklesham Recreation Ground is out of action at present.

The Hastings FA Veterans League has also been abandoned with a knockout competition being run in April and May. The Casuals veterans have received a bye in the 1st round and will take on the winners of the match between Sedlescombe Rangers Veterans and S C Pass and Move Veterans on Sunday, April 25 for a place in the final.
