On June 2 The Occasional Consort will be returning to St Thomas' Church, Winchelsea with a mixed program of music entitled "Music for a summer evening," writes Gary Dyer. Among the works they will be performing are Telemann's Jesu mein freude, Purcell's O sing unto the Lord and a selection of British folk songs. Led by Anne Whiteman with accompanist Shirley Carey and instrumentalists led by Peter Field, the concert begins at 7:30pm with tickets at £10 (to include a glass of wine) available on the door.
