Rye Museum will hold its annual Twelfth Night party, this Saturday, January 11. The party will start at 7pm and although tickets are available theoretically on the door, for £12, the uptake so far has been so great that the organisers’ may have to turn away people who show up on the night without a ticket. People who want to attend are advised to drop a note in through the door of the museum on East Street, or call the office (01797 226728) to book ahead – advance tickets are £10.

The museum is raising funds to restore a door from the Ypres Tower site which was the main entrance in Tudor times. In 2009 the door was removed during renovation works and now needs some tender loving care. A furniture maker who was working on a previous library project has very kindly offered to donate his time free of charge.
