Last weekend proved an entertaining one at The Mermaid, as she welcomed the wonderful and fun entertainment offered by The Adur Concert Band on Saturday, May 24 and three Morris men groups on Monday, May 26.
The car park for once was freed of cars to create an entertainment space. Many thanks for the support of the mayor and mayoress for both events.
The Adur Concert Band rehearses in Southwick, West Sussex, UK, and plays concerts all year round in the south east of England. It grew out of the Adur Youth Concert Band in 1991, and in 2001 changed its name to The Adur Concert Band to properly reflect the type of band it had become.
The band has a membership from Shoreham, Hove, Brighton, Worthing, Steyning and as far away as Crawley and Chichester.
The Morris men were made up of The Romney Marsh Morris Men, Invicta Morris and Motley Morris, and even got the public to join in a final mass dance.
