This January The Mermaid Inn is offering tours of the building while the hotel and restaurant are closed for their annual brush up. The Giant’s Fireplace Bar remains open. Tours need to be pre-booked, and a donation to the National Deaf Children’s Society is suggested.

This is an opportunity to immerse yourself in 600 years of history, step through the secret passageway, peer at The Priest Hole, discover more about the visit of William Shakespeare, the Hawkhurst gang and the various tales of ghosts, and look into the cellars dating from 1156.
