Marshlink and Javelin

Network Rail will be making their presentation on the extended Javelin service, now that the election is over

Marshlink and Javelin
The HS train from Ashford to London - but first you have to get to Ashford

With election purdah now over, Network Rail are able to present their proposals that, if implemented, would enable the Javelin service from London St. Pancras to come directly to Rye, Hastings and Bexhill (possibly also on to Eastbourne).

Network Rail's presentation will take place from 7pm (for 7:15pm) on Thursday 15 June at Rye Town Hall. The presenter is one of the authors of the inelegantly titled “South East Route: Kent Area Route Study” issued in March: this is a consultation document requiring responses by June 30.

The Study itself can be found at https://www.networkrail.co.uk/running-the-railway/long-term-planning/

To find the relevant documents, click on this link and scroll down to “South East planning” below which you will be able to see the various Kent Route Study documents. There are extensive references in the Study to the works required to enable the Javelin service to operate on the MarshLink, most particularly in the Technical Appendix, Pages 19-37.

We hope you will be able to get to this meeting and add your voice, whether in favour of this development or not.
