Rye Library customers should by now have now received an email from East Sussex County Council regarding the ongoing improvements to our library. For those without internet access the notification reads as follows:
Dear Customer
As a Rye Library customer we want to provide you with important information about the library. We are in the process of undertaking some maintenance and refurbishment work at Rye Library.
We are unable to complete the works while the library is open as we need to improve the platform lift and install energy saving lighting and windows. Â Unfortunately, in order to do this we need to close the library for a short period.
Rye Library will close at 5pm on Friday 30 December and reopen at 10am on Monday 30 January 2023
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Your nearest alternative library is Hastings Library.
Please don’t forget that you can renew your library books, search and reserve items and download eBooks and eMagazines from our eLibrary and you can use your library card at any East Sussex Library.
If you have not yet signed up to our monthly newsletter and you'd like to hear about local library events, workshops, new online services, book recommendations and new releases, you can sign up to the library newsletter here.
