Learning about stained glass

Looking for a unique and interesting present for someone special? What about a short course where the lucky recipient learns a new skill and takes away something beautiful at the end of the day?

Local artist Susan Morris is offering copper foil stained glass classes in the New Year. She tells Rye News, “copper foil stained glass is the method developed by the Louis Comfort Tiffany studios around the turn of the 20th century, where copper is wrapped around the edges of the glass and then soldered together. Today we have the convenience of adhesive copper tape".

The courses will take place locally from February and could be a Christmas present with a difference for someone special - or even yourself.

Susan can often be found displaying her wares at the classy craft fairs in the Community Centre on Conduit Hill. Talk to her there or book online.

The course lasts three to four hours and costs £45. Tools, materials and teaching is included. And you will take home the piece you make!
