On November 26 members of the Iden Bowls Club gathered with club president Geoffrey Chater Robinson and chairman Ralph Morris, for a dinner at the Hope Anchor in Watchbell Street and, as well as being the club’s Christmas event, members were celebrating finishing top of the local eleven-team Mermaid League for the fifth consecutive year.
During the evening cups and awards for the club’s internal competitions were presented to winners and runners up by the club president.
Earlier, at a Mermaid League dinner at the Mermaid Inn, Rye, on November 19, the Mermaid League trophy was presented to Vicky Britton, the club secretary.
