Many people in Rye and around are dusting off their tricorn hats, hooks, parrots and eye patches, getting ready to join the unrivalled pirate capital of the world in Hastings, for the celebrations on the July 16-17 weekend.
There is an action packed weekend of activities, including live music, storytelling, sea shanties and, of course, a drum off featuring Rye’s own bonfire society drumming group Ryebellion (3:30pm at the Stade).
