The Christmas period emphasises the problem of loneliness

Hands of Hope are participating in The Big Give Christmas Challenge to raise vital funds for our Helping Hands Lunch Clubs – offering a vital life line for vulnerable, older people.

The Campaign against Loneliness estimates that there are 3.9 million people in this country over 65 for whom their main company is the television. Around 17% of older people are in contact with family, friends or neighbours less than once a week. An amazing 11% are in contact with them less than once a month.

With your help, we want to make sure that even the most vulnerable feel included. Your donations will not only go towards transport, building hire, food and entertainment but will also make sure these projects are sustainable.

Our Target is £10,000 and for one week from Tuesday, November 27, every donation you make will be doubled. However, the funds will only be raised if we hit our £10K target so every donation counts.

Details of how to donate are here
