A piano concerto fit for an emperor at the Battle Festival

Hastings Philharmonic Orchestra announces the launch of its new 2019/2020 concert season starting with a performance on Friday October 11 of Mozart's Piano Concerto no 23 in A Major, his Symphony no 35 (Haffner) and Beethoven's Symphony no 4.

The event is part of the Battle Festival, which runs throughout October. It features the winner of this year’s Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition (HIPCC) pianist Fumiya Koido. A Hastings Philharmonic spokesperson said: “Koido was star performer at his graduation concert before the Japanese Emperor at Tokagaku-do in the Imperial Palace.”

St Mary in the Castle, Hastings, Friday, October 11 at 7:30pm.
Tickets £22.50, stalls; £17.50, balcony; students and under 18, free.
