The first Hastings Fringe Comes to Rye was great success, three fantastic plays were seen over the weekend event at Rye Creative Centre. The plays were all very different and several audience members attended all three performances. This event was the first step in bringing RCC Theatre back to life and building upon relationships with local theatre professionals and for our local audience to see what a fantastic space RCC Theatre is and the potential it has for the future.
RCC Theatre would like to thank the Hastings Fringe organisers Heather Alexander and Steve Scott, as well as the performers and theatre companies that brought us their wonderful shows, Mike Hatchard, Highly Inflammable team and Theatre Nation.
All three are keen to return to RCC Theatre; we are in talks with Mike Hatchard about a regular slot, Highly Inflammable writer Cheryl White sees the space as the new home for new writing and developing new work and Theatre Nation will be returning next spring with their production of Hamlet, the title role being taken by a female actor, Hastings based Emily Carding, who recently performed her solo show in Rye, "Richard III (A One Woman Show)".
