Grant funding secured

Thanks to the efforts of founding Rye News director, Dennis Leeds-George, we are delighted to confirm that Rye News has just secured a grant of £5,000 from the Little Cheyne Court Wind Farm Fund at Sussex Community Foundation.

Rye News is run entirely by volunteers and we survive on donations and grants to cover our moderate running costs. We recently relaunched our website which after a lot of hard work and planning has been upgraded and redesigned. It now looks a lot slicker, more professional and hopefully our readers have found it easier to navigate. A new format has been introduced with bigger photographs and additional categories and to date we have had very encouraging feedback.

These costs have been covered by the wind farm grant as well as our website running costs, hosting, podcast, training costs and various necessary administration and promotional costs.

Dennis Leeds-George

Rye News is indebted to the Sussex Community Foundation for their generosity and to Dennis for taking the initiative in applying for the grant and for progressing the application so successfully.

You will soon see evidence of one of our new marketing initiatives which will shortly be appearing in shops and office windows throughout the town, a topic we will be covering in another article.
