This Saturday, November 10 is Bonfire Night in Rye - and the drums will be drumming, the torches will be flaming, and there will be a wide variety of costumes from visiting bonfire societies from the surrounding area.
Parking restrictions kick in from 4:30pm, roads will be closed from 6:30pm and the procession leaves Tilling Green's Mason Road around 7:50pm.
It then heads for the Landgate and goes down the High Street and The Mint before returning along Cinque Ports Street towards the Landgate and the Salts by the River Rother where the bonfire will be. Rye Fawkes will be chaired down to the bonfire at 8:30pm and the fire is lit at 8:45pm. The fireworks, safely placed on the far side of the river, start at 9pm.
Bus services will be diverted. Trains may be full. Crowds are normal.
Expect to be served drinks in plastic glasses - and have a good evening.
