This Friday, November 3, Rye’s Film Club presents Hidden Figures (2016 – 127 minutes)

This is the true story of three black female mathematicians employed by America’s space agency Nasa as “human computers” to work on the space programme in the 1960s.

Set against a still somewhat segregated society their story can finally be told and credit given where due.

Starring Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer and Janelle Monae as Katherine G. Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson, it is a heartwarming story of three previously unsung American heroines.

Showing at Rye Community Centre (7pm start, doors open 6:30pm).
