I heard on local radio that the Government has allocated £15 million for road repairs "in the South" so I do hope at least a few thousand will reach the environs of Rye, where it is much needed. In particular, urgent attention should be given to Deadman's Lane which is frequently used as a thoroughfare into the town. The worst bits are at the top after entering from Rye Hill, and at the bottom in the two-way portion where slaloming has become a means of pothole avoidance. This is almost immediately followed by a shocking stretch of about 30 yards of sheer pot-holery in the middle of the road, about opposite the Car Park Entrance. Urgent attention please.
