Hastings is gearing up for its 9th Fat Tuesday festival (February 9-13, 2018) and is seeking musical performers from all genres to take part in the UK’s biggest and best celebration of Mardi Gras.

The festival is now accepting applications from solo artists or bands from Sussex and beyond for two key events. The first is “Unplugged Saturday” on February 10 which is an acoustic afternoon in Hastings Old Town, with 200 performances from 12-7pm. The second is the “Fat Tuesday Tour” (February 13) which represents the climax of the festival with 24 of the best emerging and established bands touring Hastings Old Town venues, performing three 20-minute sets each. Between them, these highly popular events attracted a 10,000 strong audience in 2017.

Applications should be made online, and the deadline is Friday, December 1 at 9pm. Applicants will be asked to provide a bio, information about recent gigs, and links to their music.

The Hastings Fat Tuesday programme also includes a Grand Masked Ball on Saturday February 10, the famous Umbrella Parade and Off Axis, an unsigned band showcase on Sunday February 11 and UnConvention a day-long music industry event with diverse panellists on Monday, February 12.
