The UK’s largest Mardi Gras celebration will take place on February 21-25. The first 50 bands have just been announced for Hastings’ “Fat Tuesday” celebration.
The diverse line-up includes indie pop headliner Baxter Dury. local heroes Kid Kapichi, Irish folk musicians Aris and The Colleens, hip hoppers Gawd Status, singer-songwriter Duke Garwood and rising south London R&B star Greentea Peng, picked by The Guardian as one to watch in 2020.
Performers will play in a variety of venues across the town. Others are welcome to join in, particular with the Umbrella Parade which starts at the Stade on Saturday February 23 from 11:30am. Free umbrella workshops will be held to help people create beautiful decorated accessories.
