Have you had your GCSE results and maybe had a change of mind about what to do next?

The Rye Guild (for hospitality) has 13 placements this year with excellent local hospitality and catering venues in Rye offering a level 2 in Hospitality accredited by West Kent College for 16-18 year olds. These involve paid work for four days a week and employer-led learning in the workplace to gain key employability skills.

Above and beyond other apprenticeships, this offers personal coaching with professionals during the one-year course as part of the transition between school and the workplace, and opportunities for travel to related industries and workshops.

If remaining in the classroom for another two years isn’t for you, but hands-on, paid learning on the job is, why not get in touch to find out more from Martin Blincow, The Mermaid Inn, Rye on mermaidinnadmin@btconnect.com.
