Northiam's Midsummer Festival is on the Playing Fields this Saturday (June 17) from 11 to 5pm with a dog show (last year's pictured above), crafts, local beer, live music, rides, a barbecue and teas.

The amazing dog show apparently includes a chance to win a portrait of your dog and there may also be terrier racing - a hot favourite in past years at the Rye Country Show.

Entries for the dog show are taken at 11:30am on site. Categories include cutest puppy, prettiest bitch, most handsome dog, best child handler and best crossbreed.

The Beer Festival features seven local beers and two local ciders along with music from Titus and Ricky Adelaide & Friends, as well as a Craft Fayre and many other attractions including a miniature railway.
